This week marked the passing of 1 month since a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck close to the Turkish metropolis of Gaziantep on February 6, adopted by dozens of highly effective aftershocks. Greater than 50,000 deaths have been reported throughout southern Turkey and northwestern Syria. Rescue and restoration efforts have wound down, and the work of eradicating rubble and demolishing broken buildings has begun. The United Nations estimates that 1.5 million individuals have been made homeless by the quake, and native teams, charities, and authorities companies are working to take care of them, establishing tent cities, repurposing passenger-train vehicles, and opening up mosques and inns. Gathered under are photographs from throughout the quake-hit area over latest weeks.
