Between setting world data, successful Diamond League titles and even taking up beer miles, Jakob Ingebrigtsen of Norway has had a September to recollect. On Sept. 23, he added one other milestone to his life by marrying his accomplice of seven years, Elisabeth Asserson, of their native Norway.
Asserson and Ingebrigtsen’s love story started once they had been simply 16, and Ingebrigtsen popped the query in 2021. Their wedding ceremony had an American-style aptitude, that includes 10 attendants, with Ingebrigtsen’s brothers Henrik, Filip and Kristoffer proudly serving as groomsmen.
The marriage came about on the Bragernes Church in Drammen, Norway, which is kind of a distance from Ingebrigtsen’s hometown of Sandnes, which is roughly 400 km away. Asserson had a connection to the church, as one among her grandmothers hailed from Drammen, which is a brief distance from Oslo.
